Registration has opened for Holiday Hampers across the Haliburton Highlands.

As of Nov. 18, residents in need in Minden can call the Minden Community Food Centre at 705-286-6838 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and register for a holiday hamper and Christmas gifts for kids, and youth.

Local officials say residents in Gooderham, Tory Hill, Cardiff, Harcourt, Wilberforce and Highland Grove should call or email the Central Food Network – at 705-243-2419 or  hello@centralfoodnetwork.org – to register for the holiday program in Highlands East.

Those who live in the Village of Haliburton will have to wait until Nov. 24 to register. The 4C’s Food Bank will be handling the Holiday Hampers and gifts in Dysart et al and can be reached at 705-457-3010 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Both the Minden Community Food Centre and 4C’s Food Bank are beneficiaries of the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, which runs at local Tim Horton’s through Nov. 23.
